Dog Behaviour Training is Necessary
Dogs are undoubtedly great companions for their owners but they can
cause problems if they are not trained and obedient. Dog tricks and dog
training are meant to make the dogs extremely obedient and well trained.
Training your dog will avoid the incidence of unpleasant happenings that
may cause damage to individuals and property. Dog obedience training is
a long process and is dependent on your dog’s nature, perception,
understanding and skill. Repeating the commands, encouraging the dog and
rewarding it frequently can motivate your dog to follow your commands
and behave in a positive manner.

Necessity of behaviour training
Dogs roam about in packs and are natural hunters who chase after things.
Dogs chase animals, people or objects that they come across in their
path or that enter into their territory. Their basic instinct to attack,
surfaces now and then since, they have a lot of wild manners ingrained
in them. Dogs are domesticated but sometimes their natural emotions can
come to the forefront resulting in damage to property and man.
Dog behaviour training is vital to make them good mannered. Dog training
teaches them to obey your orders frequently which make them very
manageable, even if they are provoked. Training them to take commands
from you and execute, makes them control their natural instincts and
follow your lead.
How to do it
Your dog is like a child who is playful and inattentive at times, so
being patient with it is imperative, if you want the dog to be obedient.
A few points to note during the dog behaviour training are,

- Dogs have distinct personalities and understanding them is
imperative for the owners when they embark on any kind of training
regimen. Some dogs obey instantly but others take a lot of time in
understanding your commands and even executing them.
- Assert your authority and command and ensure that your dog
accepts you as its master. Pet owners are generally soft towards
their pets but while training dogs it is essential to stay in
control, to make them do things.
- Use simple words as commands, so that your dogs are not confused
with commands that are in ‘longer sentences’.
- Don’t frustrate your dog too much by being very strict and
commanding to it. Assess the nature of your dog and do things
accordingly, in the initial stages. Make sure that the dog is
comfortable with your training and is not anxious.
- Punishing the dogs can provide more negative feelings than
benefits. Don’t flog the dog or irritate your dog by yelling at him.
A small movement of the leash or a jerk must signal your displeasure
to the dog.
- Rewards make your dog follow your instructions spontaneously and
enthusiastically. Praise the dog, scratch his back, pet him, shower
your love and reward him for performing well. Even when he fumbles
and falters, encourage him with a pat and move on. Give the dog
treats and food to boost his interest to do more things.
